Steve was born on February 27th 1963, in London and shares his birthday with Elizabeth Taylor (who never sends a card!). He now lives by the sea in the Kent coastal town of Margate. He shares his home with his collection of bass guitars and has very understanding neighbours! He has been with his Moog Taurus Bass Pedals since 1980, they have no children!

His favourite band is YES and he is obsessed with Kate Bush. Favourite albums: Queen II , Day at the Races – Queen, Going for the One – Yes, Hounds of Love – Kate Bush, OK Computer – Radiohead. Favourite song of all time: Awaken - Yes. He is a vegetarian and founding member of the Aubergine Liberation Front!

  • First band 1979 "Southern Star”
  • Joined contemporary rock band "Monolith" (1980-82). It was in this band, he first met Lee
  • 1982 Steve joins Lee in "Arque”
  • "Arque" secure residencies at local venues 'The Tramshed', in Woolwich and 'The Old Tiger's Head' in Lee Green
  • "Document" e.p released (produced by Dave Hewson) released, featuring two self penned songs, one co-written with Lee
  • "Arque" appear in local press, pirate radio and are interviewed on BBC Radio Kent ('Kent Rocks' show). Interest from Bronze Records
  • Allied to the burgeoning Prog-Rock Revival, signing up Keith Goodwin as publicist. Support gigs with noted bands such as Quasar follow
  • "Arque" break up, leading to "After Dark" - a more commercial/AOR band in 1986, again with Lee
  • "Exhibit One" 12" vinyl e.p (produced by Dave Hewson) released
  • Residency at 'The Tramshed', Woolwich
  • "The Splendour Falls" e.p (produced by Mike Myers) released
  • At the end of 1988, "After Dark" (now called "The Main Event") folds
  • 1989 starts with a new band, "Union" playing commercial edged 'Prog Pop'
  • "Union" release the "Letter Of Introduction" e.p

  • Showcase gig in London's Covent Garden (at 'The Rock Garden') for several record companies. Residency at the Royal Standard, Walthamstow
  • 1990 Prestigious appearance at London's Hammersmith Palais opening proceedings for Kate Bush at a fan club convention in front of nearly 2000 KB fans
  • 1990-1993 work with “Union” continues alongside seesion work for other artists (including work with producer Gus Dudgeon)
  • "Union" splits up in 1993. Session work continues. Joins various ‘function’ and classic rock covers bands – tours of British army bases in Germany
  • 1995 – 1999 Musical work takes a back seat when Steve returned to university to read for an English degree
  • 1999 – 2007 Steve puts a career in music on hold
  • 2008, a flash of inspiration and Steve starts playing and writing again. October he takes a chance and remembers Lee’s phone number and both are musically re-united after 16 years. Plans made for new progressive rock project..
